Last night at 5:40 pm Squad 28 responded to this incident as RIT. We stood by for half an hour while crews wrapped up overhaul and wetting the area down. We were back in our district by 7:00 pm. Great work by Hillsborough Companies for a quick knock on this fire.Late yesterday afternoon, our station was dispatched with Station 37 for a report of a fence on fire on New Centre Rd. Shortly after the initial call, it was upgraded to a house fire which triggers a full fire district response. Police and neighbors worked to slow the fire as fire companies arrived and began the firefighting operation. Initial arriving Chiefs had fire showing from the house and transmitted a first alarm to bring additional manpower and tankers to the scene. E485 was first to arrive followed quickly by Ladder 36, both having been on the road from a previous call. Tanker 37 provided an immediate water supply to E485.
The fire was knocked down by the 15 minute mark and extinguished completely by the 30 minute mark. It caused damage to the exterior of the home, but was stopped quickly, preventing further extension to the interior. The families pets were also rescued from the home.
Hillsborough Fire Co. 1, 2, 3, Neshanic, Millstone Valley RIC and RWJ EMS operated on the scene.
